Mandrake is a 50ft Pocket Maxi Racing Yacht and is rigged for speed. Passengers will be invited to sit on the rails (side of the boat) when sailing to assist in balancing the boat. This usually allows you to feel the tropical waters of the Whitsundays on your feet as you carve through the water.
Passengers can assist with the sailing of the boat but this is not compulsory.
With only 15 passengers on each trip when the boat is not under sail there is ample space on deck for you to find your own spot for sunbaking or just relaxing.
Below decks Mandrake has a spacious saloon with seats and table for passengers to relax in or just to get out of the sun if you want to.
Onboard accommodation is in an open plan environment which allows for more space below decks. There are no private cabins on Mandrake and facilities are shared onboard.
Single multi share bunks are available on Mandrake.
Meals are prepared using fresh local produce with a good variety of food during your trip. Vegetarians are catered for with advance notice when arranging your sailing trip on Mandrake.
Mandrake was built for sailing and during was a strong competitor in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race. Converted for Whitsundays sailing trips Mandrake was made more comfortable but still retains the ability to give a heart pumping adrenaline racing experience when the conditions are right.
